The retail warehouse sector continues to flourish in the Province, despite the current economic climate
Whilst other areas of the commercial sector continue to suffer the effects of the downturn, the Retail Warehouse Market in Northern Ireland is showing positive indications of strength, according to the retail specialist team at commercial estate agents, DTZ McCombe Pierce, Belfast.
DTZ McCombe Pierce, working on behalf of Tesco, has entirely pre-let all the retail warehouse space in the Castlebawn Retail Park, Newtownards, Co.Down. Amongst the new tenants are Matalan (30,000 sq ft), Discount NI (10,000 sq ft), Home Bargains (10,000 sq ft) and Burger King (3,000 sq ft)
“Demand for Retail Warehouse space in Northern Ireland remains high in particular amongst the Discount Operators who are very active in this area of the market locally. “ explains Michael Pierce from DTZ McCombe Pierce.
“Castlebawn is probably one of the only retail warehouse developments constructed in the UK last year to have achieved a fully-let status. Lower rents at circa £15 psf, flexible fit outs, accessibility and location makes developments such as Castlebawn highly desirable to retailers looking to expand in N.Ireland.”
